SAINT LOUIS, MO – Jeff “Woodie” Woodside has been named Offensive Coordinator for the Saint Louis University Billikens Lacrosse Club for the Spring 2017 season. Woodside, who played Attack at Onondaga Community College of the NJCAA before finishing his collegiate career at SUNY-Buffalo of the MCLA, hails from lacrosse hotbed Syracuse, New York. “He provides a higher level of detail to the offense by teaching the little things that were missing from our Midwestern based coaching staff,” states Head Coach TJ Allman. “He will be a great addition.”
Woodside, with 10 years coaching experience, previously coached youth in the Brine Upstate Lacrosse League in New York, Ft. Zumwalt High School in St. Charles, MO, a program he helped start from scratch and helped build into a playoff contender, and most recently as the Head Coach of Parkway South High School in Ballwin, MO where he coached for two seasons. Woodside’s playing career includes semi-professional lacrosse with Labatt Blue Light and Team Reebok in New York and more recently, he played alongside fellow SLU coaches Brandon Knox and Tom Schmidt with the St. Louis Centurions of the CILL Indoor League.
With the addition of Woodside, the two SLU alumni coaches, TJ Allman and Brandon Knox remain Head Coach and Offensive Assistant respectively, while Tom Schmidt shifts from Offensive Coordinator to Defensive Coordinator.
“I’m excited to take on my first collegiate coaching job and SLU is a great fit with their history of success in the GRLC,” said Woodside. “I plan to contribute to the offense with my background growing up in Syracuse as an attackman at nearly every level. SLU has some great offensive talent and I can’t wait to see how I can contribute. It will be a fun year, we will be competitive.”
